I have read so many times that the way to becoming a good writer is to write every day for a set number of hours.
I suspect this is done to build a discipline or maybe as a way to get ideas to flow. That is what I feel this will do, it will unblock the flow. I have been reading a book called “The Mental Diet” book it talks about being creative and productive, and this resonates in me. It put into perspective how much I limit the creative energy, by not picking up a pad and pen daily, or firing up the laptop or iPad, the idea is to get things flowing. I imagine something good will come of this, if I set good intentions when I start, right?
